School 3:00pm
On a particularly sunny evening just as school ends, you walk out into the suburban streets you call your neighborhood, staring into the distance wondering what to do next you feel content, until a booming voice snaps you out of it "Hey Garry! There's a party at the crimson peak tonight at 7:00. I also hear there’s going to be a blood moon, want to come?" Simon, says to you, the only friend that didn't move away when graduating from elementary school. His constantly smiling and frankly comforting face looks at you waiting for an answer. "He's taking pity on me isn't he" you think to yourself as you [[decide to go]] or [[not.]]
Refusing to take part in any form of socializing, you slink home dissapionted in yourself, sitting on the lumpy couch, turning on the TV and watching it for the rest of the night. wishing that you could go back to [ Just as you are about to make up a flawed excuse about having chores to do, or other plans with friends, or I have an abundance of homework to do, or something stupid like that. It dawns on you for what feels like the first time. It's not, and you realise the sad situation you are in, you don’t have any other friends, you don’t do chores and you are stuck in the lowest class out of the whole school, and you're still failing. Having this fake epiphany you decide to go against your core philosophy, “I hate socialising” and decide “Yeah I will go to crimson peak tonight, I'll be [[the talk of the town”]] Accepting Simon’s invitation, to his surprise, he leaves you with the life changing quote of “see you there” and skips off, down the white concrete pathway. After what feels like hours, and is, 7:00pm finally arrives, you sneak out of your grey frame plexiglass window and down the road, past the uniform, boring yet strangely beautiful houses, past the supermarket, shops and gas station you always get hotdogs at, until you arrive at crimson peak. always the first to be bathed in the light of the moon and therefore a blood moon. The sound of heavy metal loudly blairs from the few speakers that are set up around, the punch bowls surrounded by people you recognise but regularly forget exist. As a few minutes go by Simon notices you and comes running, trying to convince you to “talk more often” and “have some fun” [[Do you]] or [[Not?]]
After Simon starts getting a bit annoying you finally give in and start to talk to a few people saying such mediocre conversation starters like how was your day? What's your favorite food? And what are you doing on the weekend? Most of the people you talk to engage and humor you, giving you some courage, feeling the best you ever have, only rivaled by your dreams. After what feels like enough you turn to leave, but are stopped by Simon who doesn’t want you to miss the blood moon rising. As you wait, you start to get bored, so you start to have a few drinks from the punch bowl. After a few drinks you start to feel a little bit better, even going as far to play some games. Pin the tail on some guy, Painyayta and a few more barbaric spins on the normal party games, but when you're dancing at the edge of the cliff, having taken a dare, what feels like everyone starts yelling at you. You can’t hear what any of them are saying, having drowned themselves out over another. But then Simon, pushing himself past the rest of the scared partygoers yells out “GET AWAY FROM THE EDGE!!”, but it’s just a few seconds too late. Just as you realise why Simon and everyone else were yelling at you instantly freeze, but you don’t stop moving and as you look behind you, your worst fears are confirmed. And as you start plummeting faster and faster for what feels like 1000m. You relive almost every memory, the good and the bad and you wonder how it came to this as you crash to the road with an abrupt thud. The next day police investigate, question party goers and retrieve some of the few broken belongings that littered the road… but they never found the body of Gary Wenters.
Go back to [[Where it all began]]?
Drawing the line at talking to people, you just hover around eating the party food and watching everyone join in at the party games. Having had a pleasent night you go home somewhat happy, wondering [[What could have been different]]Refusing to take part in any form of socializing, you slink home dissapionted in yourself, sitting on the lumpy couch, turning on the TV and watching it, but only for a few minutes until you jump off the couch, creep out the window and dash towards the party watching all the houses fly by.
